About Dr. Bing
Dr Bing’s Background
Dr Bing grew up and graduated in Singapore before embarking on a dental degree in Australia. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013, quickly joined a local practice and started gaining broad experience doing everything from extractions to root canals. This practice was one of the earliest adopters of CEREC technology. Although new at the time, the technology opened his eyes to future possibilities.
Dr. Bing focused his attention on expanding his knowledge and skills by utilising this new technology, taking advantage of any continuing education courses that were available and leaning on his peers for advice and support; it was the start of a lifelong passion.
Dr Bing understood the importance of getting the foundational knowledge in place and then worked hard to build upon that. Speaking to experts in the industry helped to shape the way he did things and he took several modular courses on implant dentistry. Far from the short courses that were available by this time, he dedicated a lot of time to ensure he learnt the most advanced skills and techniques from the very best in the industry.
Dr Bing’s Practice
By 2015, Dr Bing had started his own practice, Prospect Family Dental, in Launceston with his wife Dr Fay Chan. They’d noticed that there was a gap in what the local practices in Tasmania were offering the community, and it was a gap they knew they could fill in more ways than one. They brought with them years of experience in CAD CAM chairside technology and were the first practice in Launceston to offer same-day handcrafted porcelain crowns.
From humble beginnings, the pair were able to quickly grow their practice attributing their successes to comprehensive patient care, a fiercely loyal patient base along with great word-of-mouth referrals within the local community; Then, as the practice continued to grow, so did the team. Two years later saw the addition of an established dental practice in Canning Street, which the team quickly outgrew. Another two years on and Launceston’s leading dental practice, Innova Dental, was born. The dental practice is now a combined 10-chair dental group with a team of 10 dentists, a prosthetist and dedicated support staff serving the people of Launceston, Prospect and surrounding areas in general, cosmetic and implant dentistry.
Dr Bing’s Passion
While Dr Bing still practises a wide range of procedures, he has a passion for surgical and reconstructive dentistry with a particular emphasis on utilising innovative digital technologies to provide superior outcomes for patients. Although he has trained extensively, both locally and overseas with renowned implant specialists, Dr Bing continues to keep up to date with the latest methods in implant dentistry techniques.
In addition to clinical dentistry, Dr Bing is also passionate about teaching and mentoring, having taught and lectured multiple courses throughout Australia. He continues to engage in mentoring programs to help new graduates entering the professional world of dentistry and he works closely with clinicians at Dental Implants Tasmania to ensure the team consistently delivers a high standard of care.
With the new practice, Dr Bing could see clearer than ever the potential of implant dentistry to change people’s lives. So, he limited the variety of procedures he offers at Innova Dental, focusing on surgical and reconstructive dentistry. Under Dr Bing and Dr Fay’s leadership, the highly skilled team of professionals at Dental Implants Tasmania are ideally suited to help patients in Launceston and across Tasmania restore their smile and their confidence.
Somewhat a workaholic, in his free time, Dr Bing does a lot of business planning, reading and dedicates a lot of time to mentoring dentists. When he’s not doing that, he enjoys nothing more than spending time with his wife and their two young children.
